Instructions for Valley
To prepare the Valley recipe, please follow these instructions:
1.Screw the lenses into a medium-sized pan. Add about one liter of water. Bring it to boil and simmer for about 45 minutes. The lenses must be soft, but not mashed.
2.Make the oil in a small pot at medium heat. Add the cumin and stir. Boil and stir for about one minute. The bowl will give a reddish color and emit a wonderful scent.
3.Place garlic with the cumin and cook and stir for approx. a minute. Add the other spices to the oil and continue cooking and stirring for an additional minute.
4.Pipe in a 1.5dl liquid from the lenses and simmer for a few minutes to mix the taste.
5.Replace the spice mixture into the lenses.
Served with rice.
tips:
Note: To get the authentic Indian flavor it is absolutely necessary to cook the spices in the oil as described above. Do not skip this important part of the recipe! Adding the spices directly into the lenses will not give the same delicious characteristic Indian flavor.
