In a thick-bottomed saucepan sauté the rice in half of ghee, for they are covered with fat. Add the saffron, spices and 7 ½ dl cold water. Put a lid on and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and cook without lifting the lid for 20 min. Grate raisins, almonds and the meat in the remaining ghee. Stir this into the rice and let it soak for five minutes before serving.
