To prepare the Polenta (Basic Recipe) recipe, please follow these instructions:
Bring the water to a boil in a high pot. Add the salt and stir the corn grits with a large saucepan. It must be done slowly and gradually, so the boiling is not interrupted, as it will easily clump.
Let the corn boil tenderly for 45 minutes. For 1 hour for quite mild heat and in the beginning with constant stirring, after hand only at frequent intervals.
Turn out the tender corn dish on a dish or wooden board and serve it as an accessory to the ladder or ragouter.

Preferably use grated ground corn. They both taste better and provide a better consistency.
Many Italian housewives come with 1 tablespoon olive oil in the cooking water or use half water half milk.

Let the polenta cool and cut it into slices. Now the slices can be roasted, grilled or gratinated in the oven and served as accessories for meat dishes.
In Italy, you will often serve freshly cooked polenta together with onion rings fried in plenty of butter.
You can also shake thin bacon slices of crispy oil or sauté fresh salami leaves for a moment in the steak and pour it over the polenta just before serving.
Or you can put gorgonzola together with butter between two layers of polenta.
