Ingredients for Grovtebirkes
Skimmed milk | ||
1 | tsp | Coarse salt |
1 | tbsp | Sugar |
100 | g | 5-kornsblanding (approx. 1 ½ dl) |
100 | g | Cheasy cottage cheese 1.5% |
400 | g | Wheat flour (about 7 cups) |
5 | dl | Water |
50 | g | Yeast |
Instructions for Grovtebirkes
To prepare the Grovtebirkes recipe, please follow these instructions:
Bring the water to a boil and add the 5-kornsblandingen. Let it cook over a low heat and under the lid for approx. 5 min. Pour into draining in a sieve.
Stir the yeast into the milk and add the 5-kornsblandingen. Add the other ingredients (keep a little flour back). Take the dough out on a floured and knead it well together. Roll the dough out into a rectangle (about 20 x 60 cm). Fold the dough together 2 times from the long side, so there will be 3 layers. Cut it into 10 "poppy seed". Put them-with the join down-on a plate with wax paper. Let the 10 "poppy seed" raising obscured for about ½ hour. Brush with milk and bake them in the middle of the oven until golden. Let the ten "grovbirkes" cool on a wire rack.
