Ingredients for Chicken tag with saffron

optional1.5 kg. potatoes
Liquid honey
Freshly ground black pepper
Sea salt
Peel of 1 lemon
1tbspFinely chopped ginger
1Chicken (about 2 ½ kg)
1kgRipe tomatoes el. 1.2 kg peeled canned tomatoes
1/8tspSaffron threads, steeping in 1 tbsp. boiling water
2.5tbspSri lanka-cinnamon, freshly ground
200gFinely chopped onion
5Whole cardamom capsules
5dlCold water

Instructions for Chicken tag with saffron

To prepare the Chicken tag with saffron recipe, please follow these instructions:

Chop onions and tomatoes roughly. Cut the lemon of the lemon, the inner white must come well and chop it well. Pour all the ingredients (except honey) into a large pot (5-6 liters). Bring it all to boil. Lay on the lid and cook quietly for 1 - 1¼ hours while turning the chicken over and over.

When the chicken is tender, it is picked up and split into 6-8 pieces. Alternatively, the meat is taken off the legs. Boil the sauce until it is thick and dense. Add if necessary. Peeled potatoes cut into blocks and boil them more in the sauce. Season with salty salt, freshly ground black pepper and honey. Add the cooked chicken pieces and boil for a couple of minutes. Serve the tagin with rice, bulgur, boiled potatoes or root vegetables.
