Instructions for Matjessalat
To prepare the Matjessalat recipe, please follow these instructions:
Rinse the Christmas salad, loosen the leaves and place them on a dish. Cut the herbs into 1-2 cm wide pieces and put them on the salad. Chop red and cucumber. Peel the apples and cut them into small cubes. Distribute onions, cucumbers and apples over the herrings. Whip vinegar and oil together. Add the English sauce and sour cream. Season with salt and pepper and pour the sauce up the herring. Decorate with the garlic clove. If you like the sauce stronger, it can be flavored with thyme or mustard.
