Instructions for Duchess herring
To prepare the Duchess herring recipe, please follow these instructions:
Start with the vinegar brine. Com vinegar, lauerbærblade and peppercorns in a pot and bring to the boil. Then pour the sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved. Let it all simmer for a few minutes and take the pot of flared.
Give the herring fillets, a small incision across the fillets on the skin side, so they are easy to fold together. The flesh side with about a tablespoon of butter. mustard per fillet. Season with plenty of salt and pepper, and place a neat pile of dill, at one end of the fillets. Fold the fillets together, so the flesh side faces outwards. Turn them in oatmeal, and fry them in a mixture of oil and butter until golden.
Put them in a dish of suitable size. Advantage onion rings in addition to, and pour the vinegar brine over.
