Instructions for Börek with meat filling
To prepare the Börek with meat filling recipe, please follow these instructions:
Bring 8-9 dl flour in a bowl with baking soda and salt. Whip the eggs together with oil and yogurt and mix with flour to a dough. Finally, bring the rest of the flour and small pieces of the soft butter into the dough and knead it well.
Fill: Peel and chop onion and garlic and season the onions in oil. Bring the chopped lamb and brown it slightly before pouring the water. Season with tomato puree, salt and pepper. Let the simmer simmer approx. 5-7 minutes without lid, so a little of the heat boils in. The filling must not be too moist. Make small buns of dough, roll them out to circles and get some of the stuffing on. Knead the edges well around the filling and put the balls on baking paper on a plate with the joints downwards. Or roll the balls to circles, fill in one half of the circle and fold the other over to half-moon-shaped bows. Brush with egg and put them in the middle of a 225 ° hot oven approx. 20-25 minutes, depending on the size. The brushed börek can be sprinkled with birch or "virgin in the green" - can be bought in Turkish shops - before baking.
