Instructions for Samsøfad
To prepare the Samsøfad recipe, please follow these instructions:
Put the potato slices in the bottom of a greased ovenproof dish. Season the meat with salt and pepper and brune with crushed or finely chopped garlic on a frying pan in a little oil. Put on top of the potato slices. The next layer is boiled cauliflower bouquets - finally not boiled!
In a saucepan melt the margarine, add the flour with stirring (use a wooden whisker) and add milk and cauliflower, still stirring, until you have a relatively thick white sauce (bechamel). Add the nutmeg and salt to taste.
The sauce is poured over the cauliflower bouquets. The sauce must not be so thin that it "runs through" the meat layer.
Place the dish in a 180 degree hot oven and bag for approx. 25 minutes.
Served with a bowl of salad.

Lovely dish that tastes this summer. Despite the simple ingredients, a dish that tastes so good, it can easily be used for guest food.
