Instructions for Salad with wild Canadian rice
To prepare the Salad with wild Canadian rice recipe, please follow these instructions:
The wild rice, rinsed well and pour in approximately twice as much boiling water with a little chicken broth. Cook for about 45 minutes, keep a close eye on that they don't boil too long, since they will be soft, dull and sticky. They must open themselves to be fit firm in texture without being harsh. It requires a little care to get the perfect result.
The carrots cut into strips, three walnuts cut one to two times through the spring onions and skives.
The ingredients for the dressing is stirred together and mix with wild rice, herbs, nuts and raisins.
Tips:
The term wild rice is rather misleading, since there actually is a græsart. It grows in marshes in Canada. In the past, native Americans harvested wild rice from the canoe by simply beating with sticks the plants, so the rice fell off the boat. It is probably still a fairly lengthy process, the very high price of the product might suggest it.
