Each whole cloves
Cinnamon
1tbspBaking soda
1Lemon juice thereof
1cupSugar
1tbspVanilla
14Eggs
2.5cupBread crumbs
3cupWater
500gPowdered almonds

To prepare the Amygdalopita (Greek Nutcracker) recipe, please follow these instructions:

Whip the eggs, add sugar while whipping. Add baking soda and vanilla. Mix half of the almonds with the breadcrumbs, rub it together between the palms. Add it a little at a time to the egg mixture. Butter a 35 cm, 5 cm deep bake shape. Pour the mixture into the mold, sprinkle the rest of the nuts on top then sprinkle a little cinnamon over the top. Bake at 180 C for 25 minutes.

Syrup: Boil the mixture until it begins to grow thick in consistency.

When the cake is baked, cut vertical slices into the cake approx. 5 cm apart, then cut diagonal slits. Pour the syrup over the overflow and allow to cool.
