1 | tsp | Turmeric |
1 | tbsp | Oil |
1 | tbsp | Salt |
3½ | dl | Buttermilk |
4 | Eggs | |
50 | g | Yeast |
8½ | dl | Flour |
Instructions for Greek Easter bread
To prepare the Greek Easter bread recipe, please follow these instructions:
Crumble the yeast Stir it out into the buttermilk. Add the oil, turmeric, salt and ¾ of flour. Beat the dough well together. Raise it to a slanting place with a cloth over for approx. ½ hour. Eat the rest of the flour in the dough. Beat the dough to a round bread. Put the whole egg in the dough. Leave the bread to add for approx. 1 hour and brush it with egg. Put the bread in a cold oven. Bake bread for approx. 35 min. At 200 °. Turn the oven off and leave the bread in the oven for 5-10 minutes. The eggs should only be considered as decorations.
