Ingredients for Simnel cake

150 | g | Brown sugar |
175 | g | Butter |
2 | tbsp | Apricot jam |
200 | g | Wheat flour |
300 | g | Raisins and currants |
750 | g | Marzipan mass |
Instructions for Simnel cake
To prepare the Simnel cake recipe, please follow these instructions:
Com raisins, currants and the finely chopped orange peel in a bowl and pour it over with the squeezed orange juice. EVS. also with a glass of rum, if you think. Let it soak for 15 minutes.
Stir the butter soft with farinen. It should be fluffy. Whip the eggs in, one at a time. Sift flour and baking powder in the cream. Stir in fruits and moisture in.
Butter a springform and sprinkle it with breadcrumbs. Pour half of the batter in.
Scroll 1/3 of marzipan mass out to a circle about the size of springformen. Place it on top of the dough and pour the rest of the dough over.
Bake the cake in a hot oven at 160 degrees for about 3 hours, until it is cooked through. Let it cool off.
Butter the top of the cake with apricot jam. Scroll even 1/3 of maripanmassen out to a circle placed over the cake.
Roll the rest of marzipan mass to the bullets used in the edge of the cake and lubricated with piskest eggs.
Style the cake under the grill until the balls are golden brown. Garnish the cake with a yellow silk ribbon and Easter chicks and little Easter eggs.
