125 | g | Sugar |
2 | dl | Cream |
4 | Egg yolks | |
4 | dl | Semi-skimmed milk |
Instructions for Homemade Chocolate Gelato (Italian ice cream)
To prepare the Homemade Chocolate Gelato (Italian ice cream) recipe, please follow these instructions:
Milk and cream pour into a pan and heat until just before the boiling point.
Half the chocolate is melted in a water bath.
Egg yolks and sugar are whipped in another pot until light and airy. The saucepan is blown over and the hot milk is slowly poured while whipping. Finally, this must not boil. Similarly, the melted chocolate is added. Whip to the mass is thickened (such that you can draw a trace on a wooden box).
Then set the ice cream to cool (please overnight).
Chop the remaining chocolate.
Pour the ice cream into the ice machine and let it run for approx. 20 min until the ice is getting frozen.
Add the chopped chocolate and freeze ice cream for approx. 20 min further.
Obs. If the ice is made without ice-cream, stir the ice during the freeze.
You can replace whole milk and cream with whole milk. This will also provide a good result. However, the ice will not be nearly as creamy as if you use the cream.
